I used to struggle with clutter in my sewing space too.

When I first started quilting, I got very excited about all my projects. I had a million ideas and I wanted to get to all of them RIGHT AWAY, so I bought a lot of fabric and tools. I had a little table set up with my sewing machine, but soon the projects were piled up so high that there was hardly any room to do the actual sewing. The projects spilled all over my house, and I wasted a lot of time just trying to find the items I was looking for.

One day, my landlord called and said she was coming over in 5 minutes. I FREAKED OUT! There was so much mess and no time to clean it up! In my haste, I found a bedsheet and threw it over my extremely disorganized sewing table. It felt like a scene from a TV comedy - a harried character hastily hiding something embarrassing. (I still wonder what my landlord thought was under that sheet! 

That 'bedsheet day' was my turning point. I decided I needed to make a big change. So I tidied up, but I also really examined my ways of thinking to discover WHY the clutter had accumulated in the first place.

It worked. 

And a few years later, I became a professional declutterer and organizer, and I saw that my clients all had the same ways of thinking that caused the clutter to accumulate!
